Dev Update (13/05/2024)
Added 2024-05-13 12:49:30 +0000 UTCHi!
Here's a quick dev update and some recent plans.
Originally I planned to start the AI overhaul after this armor system but I decided to continue with this "one feature per week" flow since that has been going quite smoothly.
Here's the main elements that need to happen before the Public Demo 2 v2:
- Task system (DONE)
- Armor system (DONE)
- Crafting system
- Caliber based ammo
- Starting kits (DONE)
- AI overhaul
- Map expansions
AI overhaul and map expansions are going to be major timesinks (probably 3-4 weeks for each), so I decided that I will try to implement the rest of the features before those.
I would guess Crafting + Caliber based ammo + Starting kits in combined will take around 2 week, so that would give really nice timeline for me if I could finish all those three before end of the month.
This will also then provide some nice new topics to the next devlog (end of the month).
I will start today with those starting kits since I can probably make them in one day. The word starting kit means that when you press New Game you will have some options to choose your initial clothing, weapon and items, similarly like in Stalker Anomaly.
Tomorrow (if I have those starting kits ready) I will start working on the caliber based ammo.

I'm aware of those problems, but right now I don't have the time to debug that, I will try to check that performance bug after the next devlog (end of this month)

2024-05-15 01:23:50 +0000 UTCYea there's definitely something funky going on with that Shipyard map, it wasn't a problem before that Patch 3, so I have to look at the changes that made at some point

2024-05-15 01:23:46 +0000 UTCI am also having that same issue. Only in shipyard though. Anyone know why I would have issues only in shipyard but not other areas? My HW meets the very minimum requirements for even being considered a gaming unit. 11th gen i5 with a GTX 1650, 1TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe, 32 GB DDR4... Yeah I know laugh it up, but it's the first gaming computer I ever owned and I just started gaming a year ago and wasn't even sure it was something that I was going to really enjoy and get into as much as I have.

2024-05-15 01:21:48 +0000 UTCI'll just have to wait, then. It's just that this is the title I'm betting on, having tried 1337 and Incursion. I'm also debating the expense of the Unheard Edition Vs. the security risk of SPT. Scum used to be my looter shooter, but the devs have royally hosed that game and don't sound repentant.

2024-05-15 01:16:43 +0000 UTCYep, otherwise as a solo dev I would get stuck in forever add feature / fix bugs loop and that would ruin the upcoming timelines for next demos and planned content. The next demo Public Demo 2 v2 is going to be released Q2/2024.

2024-05-14 23:18:34 +0000 UTCDoes this mean there won't be any more updates to the existing demo version?

2024-05-14 22:51:53 +0000 UTCno Problems with Performance at all. Maybe there is something of with your Settings or Drivers. Make sure to update your drivers and deactivate Camara Interpolations in the Options. Maybe turn on Performance Mode.

2024-05-13 15:04:45 +0000 UTCIs looking at Shipyard performance on the to-do list? My fps drops to ~10 when there. Have a i5 7th Gen 4 core with a rx 7600 GPU.
