Q1 Progression Update (Topics)
Added 2025-03-29 20:49:55 +0000 UTCHi!
Tomorrow I will be writing pretty lengthy update post since the Q1 is ending.
Is there something you would want to know about the commercial branch progression or something else info wise that you would want to know part of this update?
Let me know in the comments :)

Hi! Matti, thanks for asking! I think experience is one of the biggest things when it comes to handling the workload, since I know really well from the past where that line between fun game development and not fun game development is, so issues with that topic. Q2 is looking quite promising since bunch of stuff has been made in-advanced but it's obvious that biggest hurdle will be making the actual early access maps, since that work is going to rely on my work output only, meaning I cannot really utilize contractors for that. Also it's obvious that more marketing efforts is going to be needed gradually towards the release, so that is going to take some time from the actual development and finding a balance between those is always a tricky thing :)

How does the workload look for the next quarter? Will there be more work or more challenging tasks? Remember to take care of yourself. You're amazing, and I wish you all the best! -Matti

2025-03-30 07:12:37 +0000 UTCI think this question is maybe not linked this update post that I was referring however I can answer this here. I would want to say yes since many of you have supported here a long time but that would be quite a messy thing to actually do, here's why: Steam generally speaking doesn't like pulling hundreds of keys at once (keys don't make them any money) and it can lead to the situation where those keys would only be provided in smaller batches or I would have to provide some more documentation in order to receive large amount of keys. This is somewhat an usual issue with kickstarter games for example where there have been keys as tier rewards and when the developer tries to get all those keys, things don't go as planned. This would then lead to this messy situation where some would receive keys, some would have to wait and this is something that you want to avoid in a release event since your focus should be supporting the launch and making sure there's no critical bugs etc. And on top of this, it would probably confuse a lot of people since those keys has never been mentioned in the Patreon tier perks etc. But I will make sure the game is really affordable anyways at launch :)
