Interiors are so often undercooked, great development choice

Hi! Basically raytracing is that kind of feature that requires "toggle-on" support from the game engine, meaning that it's too difficult to made from the scratch, even though I like making stuff from the ground up. I currently use spesific version of Unity that don't support raytracing but there is this high-fidelity version of Unity called HDRP which supports that. The upgrade to that version is relatively easy job and I have actually for fun converted it already couple of times to test those "next-gen" features. The reason why I don't implement raytracing support now is simple because, I like to keep things as simple as possible and I really enjoy the performance that game has currently. I might support that in the future, but currently I don't think there is a lot to gain with raytracing.

I'm not like expecting you to make it or anything, but was just wondering, have you looked into ray-tracing and what are your thoughts about it (relating to Road to Vostok)? I really don't know much about the technical side of it. Could it be even implemented in an indie game like this? But like talking about atmosphere and immersion, Metro Exodus is a totally different game with ray-tracing on.

Feel some cozy Metro Exodus or Medium vibes, good job!

Looking really nice man!

CruisingLlama

Very nice. Almost looks cozy for the apocalypse.

Wow, looking good!

Wow, this looks great!

Liam

Thanks! Yep, everything is based on those photo textures but the shader approach to semi-transparent objects like those is a bit different.

Road to Vostok

What a vibe man! Really dig the transparency on the fabric, is that from your approach to photo based texturing? Looks great :D

Tenebris Infinite

Just like grandmas place!

Beautiful. It will be nice to explore some different interiors. I think I've seen enough of DayZ buildings over the years 😂
