Silent Gloves

Hey Silent Gloves! You have given me the best answer I´ve found so far about UE and Unity. I´m very please with your answer my friend :) Thank you!

Fernando Soffa

Fernando, I'm no expert, but I've used both Unity and UE casually, both certainly have their strengths and weaknesses. UE is undoubtably more powerful when used correctly, but using it correctly is more of a balancing act. It can be quite easy to get oneself in trouble. Unity, on the other hand, is significantly more approachable and forgiving. In my humble opinion, UE is more suited to large studios and massive-scale projects with many devs. Unity is much better suited to small studios and single-dev projects, and is notably faster in terms of one's ability to make significant progress. Also, the additional power that UE gives to the developer just really isn't needed for a game like this; its benefits are really down in the weeds. It's mostly about performance when every clock cycle counts; when you're up against hardware limitations. An engineering trope is that the glass is neither half-full nor half-empty, the glass is incorrectly sized. Unity is the correctly sized glass for this project, if you ask me.

Silent Gloves

Hi! I have been working with Unity since 2012 and it's almost like a natural arm extension to me nowadays, so that's the main reason. On top of this Unity gives me all the features that this project needs and there's also much more Unity related tutorials and resources available compared to any other game engine. One mention is also that Finland where I live is pretty Unity oriented because Unity is the number one game engine for mobile and Finland has great number of mobile game studios which were formed thanks to Rovio and Supercell hype back in the days. + Extra mention, I like the Unity community :)

Hey Antti, I don´t know if you answered this before, but why did you chose Unity engine instead of UE4? Experience with Unity? Thank you and keep the great work :)
