Hi!
Like mentioned earlier, I have started a collaboration with a freelancer/contractor who is currently updating the weapon audio. He has also been working on those radio / ambient tracks and I'm really optimistic how this collaboration is progressing.
However after iterating with few new weapon audio files, it was obvious that this developer <-> sound designer workflow is far from ideal if the sound designer can't test those weapon sounds himself in a game engine environment, with distances, reverbs and so on.
Basically I suggested that I will develop a small tool for him in order to speed up things up and optimize this workflow. Now with this tool he's able to test all the sounds himself before sending them and me placing them in actual Road to Vostok project files.
Even though I only spent around 2h to make this Weapon Audio Tester tool, it's already helping a lot and there's now much less iteration for the upcoming weapon audio.
I will probably polish this tool at some point and share build for you to test this also. These are small things, but I think every FPS-related project needs some kind of tool like this for fast weapon audio iteration.
