Dev Build - Save System (v2)
Added 2023-06-22 21:04:06 +0000 UTCThis development build is an updated version (v2) of the Dev Build - Save System (v1).
Important: When testing this v2 version, start a new game in order to reset the save system.
The main build content is mostly the same but there have been multiple improvements and bug fixes based on your feedback.
The shelter system is not visually fully ready, it still needs multiple unique props and some small tweaks when there's a good time to focus on those.
Note: When your downloading development builds, always download the whole file structure. Do not move or download individual files/folders.
Disclaimer: You can share, record and publish content from this development build, but do not share files or download links outside from Patreon.

Feedback: All feedback is good to have, but this dev build is designed for testing how the save system works.
Most valuable thing to debug/break/test is the save system, so the goal is to try to find out if there's a way to break the system, meaning you lose items or gear when some bug happens.
UPDATES & FIXED
Inventory + Equipment Save [ADDED]
The save system didn't keep any refences to player inventory or equipment, so only placed/dropped items and containers were saved.
Now save system has been expanded to inventory, equipment and character preview.
If you die, then inventory and equipment are not saved because that's the intended behavior in the future when you loot different maps and die there (Area 05), so progression will be saved inside the shelter only.
Shelter Save Elements [ADDED]
The save system now supports doors and shooting targets, so if you leave the door open, it stays open when loading the shelter. Also if you move the shooting targets, they will spawn to their new locations after loading.
There's still few shelter elements that are not saved like showers and radio, but those are not important currently.
Expanded Range [ADDED]
The previous shooting range was too small and didn't support some of the features that are coming to Public Demo 2.
The shooting range is now much wider and there's more room to play around shooting targets, weapon walls and additional placement props that will be added in Public Demo 2.
Shelter Reverb [ADDED]
Since the shelter is located underground and there's concrete walls all around the player, there's now reverb audio added when you enter the shelter.
This reverb audio is linked to weapons, footsteps and other audio elements as well in the future.
Shelter Anti-aliasing [ADDED]
Previous dev build removed all anti-aliasing methods when you entered the shelter, this was related to shelter rendering (deferred) limitation.
Now there's Temporal Antialiasing (TAA) added to the shelter and that's supported by shelter rendering (deferred) with unlimited real-time lights.
Weapon Walls [ADDED]
Previously the weapon walls were deactivated and didn't include any functionality related to item placement.
Now weapon walls have been activated and they support weapons, modded weapons, attachments, medical items and clothing items.
You can fully customize those walls by placing these items to them and weapon wall should automatically save and align rotations correctly when it detects right items.
Placement Pivot Points [FIXED]
The previous version contained numerous pivot point bugs that caused problems when placing items / objects. This lead to situations that some items / objects were too close or high related to the camera and then collided with surrounding environment.
There's now a new system for handling item placement and most of the pivot points should be logical related to camera distance.
Shooting Targets [FIXED]
Shooting targets are now much more reliable in terms of item placement and there's separate "safe collider" to prevent them falling through the floor.
Small collision [FIXED]
Small items such as canned food (Pea Soup) often fell through the floor, because the collision didn't detect the correct hit point.
The collision physics has now been "amped" and the collision detection is switched to much faster frequency.
Double placement [FIXED]
If you were already placing item / object with [G] and you used the new context menu through inventory and tried to place a second item, the first item went into "limbo" state and just floated in the air without physics.
Now there's additional placement check that drops the first item if you try to place two items at once.
Placement Key Spamming [FIXED]
If you were spamming the placement key [G] faster than 0.2s interval, the placement system lost important item references and it broke the placement system.
Now there's a better item reference implementation that isn't breakable through spamming the placement key [G].
Bullet Decal Shader Issue [FIXED]
The save system tried to save bullet decals if they were shot to other saveable items / objects and you exit the shelter / went main menu before the decals disappeared.
Now when you exit the shelter or go main menu, shelter manager checks if there's any decals and destroys those before saving.
Ambient SFX Reset [FIXED]
The shelter used a placeholder ambient hum that didn't disappear when exiting the shelter.
Audio manager now resets every audio source and makes sure that shelter audio isn't transferred to other maps.
Inventory + Tooltip Reset [FIXED]
If you died while the inventory or hover tooltip [ALT] were open, those UI-element stayed open and caused few different bugs.
Now the UI Manager does a separate check when respawning and resets Inventory + Tooltip UI panels.
Weapon / Attachment Bugs [FIXED]
Multiple modded weapons had bugs and missing references related to specific attachments. The bugged combinations were:
PM5-K / PM5-SD + RMR Type 2
PM7 + ACOG / EXPS3
KA-12 + ACOG
AKS-74U + Micro 2
AKS-74U + Patrol PRO
These combinations are now fixed.
Shelter Lights / Reflections [FIXED]
If the main floor lights were off and the range lights were on, the light "bleeded" through the floor and caused minor shadow artifacts to the FPS-camera.
The lighting and reflections are now more accurate and keeps the dark areas dark, even there's nearby lights on.

Comments
Just played for a bit. I could only go to the shelter and starting area, not sure if it was me missing something or there is no way to go to the village map. TV audio was heard loud throughout the entire shelter, radio sound was perfect, placement for guns on the wall worked perfect as well.
