I can, but I leave it like this for people who are (incidental) proof readers, or notice something that stood out to them that felt off, and can leave commentary in the margins this way. It just so happens that the highlight function which enables them to leave a comment on a specific section (which is how it suggests corrections) can also be used (in a roundabout way) in google drive to like "suggest the chapter be in font size 23" or they can click and drag and leave it all green. Hahaha. Which it's not a huge deal, but y'know, I want to make it as smooth and simple an experience for everyone involved. The problem is really with google, where if someone makes a "suggestion" on the document, it shows that suggestion actively to everyone how that person would like it changed(I believe), instead of showing it only to people with editor access. So in the "suggest font be size 22" example, suddenly all of the document's font is 22 until I manually go in and deny their suggestion.
