Started off with block shading with no blending, a triangle for a nose and I realised my colours were a bit monochrome 2. Tried more realistic lighting and increasing the contrast. 3. Chanced upon this bara piece online which had a redder hue shadow colour which was different than my previous works which used a multiply of the same colour. I've been using that preset for skin shadows ever since. 4. Work now. Getting a better understand in shading the face.
