So, as atonement of our sins we will be dedicating this poll to only stoner comedies; hopefully this will bless us with forgiveness by those we have made upset! :(
Yes, we are most certainly going to keep calling people losers till our demise.

Up in Smoke is for the older crowd from the 80s, Dazed & Confused/Half Baked are for the late 90s early 00s crowd, and Harold & Kumar was big in mid 00s. But I've never classified Dazed & Confused as a stoner movie, just a "Life in the 70s" movie (But stoners sure are part of it)

We've called so many people losers and the fact that people who smoke weed is the demographic who can't handle it is kind of funny to us; it's interesting how we say so much dumb stuff but this is the one people choose to believe.

(Personally, my feelings would have probably been hurt, too. But, then I'd have walked around my house that I own while smoking a joint and felt better. Maybe felt bad that you guys probably don't know many stoners so you were just speaking from ignorance, which everyone does...so, it's fine.) But people can react badly when generalized in an outdated way. Still love you guys!!

2023-12-04 06:52:54 +0000 UTCI think the biggest issue that some people took with Curtis' phrasing is that it came across as not so much the over the top ridiculousness that ya'll try to engage in and people love you for but rather it came across initially as a quite sincere lecture from a mindset that stoners loathe because they've been trying to fight against it for decades without much progress until relatively recently. So it is a very touchy subject that's put a chip on a lot of stoners' shoulders and that's why some of them reacted quite negatively rather than stopping to think for a minute and view your response as a whole rather than the initial part that came off as sincere. But then there's also the unfortunate but very real fact that more and more people are feeling lonely and isolated in this world. Many people use reaction videos as a way to gain some kind of connection with others that they're lacking in their lives. And a significant percentage of those people smoke weed. So from their perspective, they see a new video from a channel they love and they are eager to feel that connection so they jump right into it. And they are having a blast, feeling like they're watching something with a friend. And then the outro hits and they're reminded that the connection isn't real and it really seems like this person that they felt a connection with truly thinks that they're losers and I'm sure that really hurt some of them. Basically, in quasi The 40 Year Old Virgin terminology.....Potheads are 40 year old virgins. You guys are the pussy. The potheads put you on a pedestal. But unfortunately Curtis put on too convincing of an asshole costume and some of the potheads thought ya'll were trying to take a shit on them so they decided to pack their bags and head off to some pinker pastures. Also, I'm stoned as fuck right now and didn't mean to type this much.
