Worked out - I had the Directors Cut but never had gotten around to watching it as I'd seen the other so many times and I didn't know the difference between them. Still my favorite scary musical (so far) !! Used to dream of singing like Audrey I.

2024-10-05 10:45:43 +0000 UTCSo the Audrey II puppet was nowhere near as fluid as it was shown here. What they did is they was have all the actors interacting with it move at half speed than sped it up in post. This included having Rick Moranis mouth the lyrics to the songs at half speed than they dubbed it over in editing and yes it was him singing the whole time. This ending is so much better than the happy ending of the theatrical release. I mean come on! Its a story about temptation how can you not end with paying the cost for your temptation.

I figured when you said you hate musicals it's because maybe you watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or Mary Poppins too many times as kids. 😆 There are some great ones out there. So, after Sweeny Todd and Rocky Horror, I hope you'll consider Reefer Madness (which would have been a perfect Halloween movie-lots of murder and mayhem), and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

2024-10-05 00:26:06 +0000 UTCExcellent Classic. I can never look at Venus Flytraps without saying "FEED ME!" Now imagine watching this when your Dad is an orthodontist and your uncle is a dentist. Fun times, they thought the whole Dentist song was hysterical. When I was in theater, Somewhere that's Green was one of my auditions songs, and I was Assistant Director for a children's theater production. This musical has been a long running classic from high schools to Off Broadway (still going on)

2024-10-04 16:54:38 +0000 UTCI'm probably the odd one out here, but I prefer the other ending way more. They change the character arcs to such a degree that the original ending doesn't work for me in the film. I do like it on stage, though.
