D. ROOM VI Sketches

Hey my Dear Ones,
Guess who will be the next X-men to come "train" in our Danger DARK Room?!

Yes, Warren Worthington III, formerly known as Angel, or in this case here, the Archangel.

I was quite excited about the idea of portraying the Archangel, as the aesthetic of a winged character actually has its own appeal!
The vision of a character flying with his wings comes to my mind as something graceful and also impressive.

So I sketched some compositions, trying to explore the movement of Warren's wings and body, as well as showing a little bit of his cute butt (because, as I already demonstrated in my X-men Pool Party series, that in my universe, Warren really enjoys playing with his cake).

And even though I liked all the proposals (especially the one of him looking over his own shoulder, with his arms pointing down), I ended up thinking that the last proposal would work better with the other illustrations I've already done for this series (DDR), because the "camera" was not at such a dynamic angle (like the other ones for this series).

And now, even though Warren doesn't have a super hairy body (like Logan), can I confess to you: how much work it was to create his wings!!

I wanted to get away from that look of a "metal hang glider" from the comics, and try to give a feeling of Metallic Bird Wings, like the movie X-men Apocalypse proposed, but within my own style and my own interpretation.

And also, Yes, I know that Warren is a character who (especially post-Apocalypse) has a serious, even angry personality.
BUT, in my Queer Universe, he's pretty much in good terms with himself (I mean, that Pool Party really did wonders for his mood! hehehe).
