This is the May game progress report for "Sister Virodar." This month, I want to share the updates within the game and the plans for future updates. The latest version update of the game can be found in this article!
Adjustments in the Game

Thanks to everyone's feedback and suggestions, we made some modifications to the game this month:
Fixed the issue where enemies would fall underground upon dying after touching protagonist .
Added a full-screen toggle function, allowing resolution changes in windowed mode.
The protagonist now enters an injured state when their health is below half.

Slightly optimized performance, reducing memory usage.
Game Content Updates

In the last update, we mentioned the introduction of rogue-like elements, which have now been partially implemented.
*Since we have only implemented the functionality roughly, we anticipate many bugs. If possible, please let us know any issues or suggestions you encounter through comments or direct messages!

An entrance has been added at the door on the far right side of the church scene.
Players can enter the rogue-like gameplay through this entrance.
Currently, players will encounter combat rooms, elite combat rooms, and trap rooms. In the current setup, all enemies in the scene must be eliminated to proceed to the next scene. (Originally, trap rooms were treasure and trap rooms, but since the resource collection feature is not yet implemented, they are all trap rooms for now, lol.)

A new enemy, the tentacle nun, has been added to the game, and they will also appear in these rooms.
Tentacle nuns have more health and are harder to kill. When attacked, they release tentacle balls to counterattack, so be careful even when using ranged attacks.

The succubus was an enemy proposed a long time ago, but it might still take some time before they are implemented in the game. I hope the animations between the nuns and the succubus can convey a sense of friendliness and playfulness.
Moreover, I'm considering that the succubus animation might involve the protagonist being taken to the succubus's territory. However, this is just an idea for now, as it involves new scenes, more animations, and other succubi, requiring a significant amount of work.

Now, food drops collected by the player not only restore health but also increase the amount of "food" currency in the game. (The functionality is implemented, but it currently has no specific use.)
In my vision, food will mainly be used to maintain the operation of the church. Besides food, there will be currencies like gold coins, candles, materials, etc. I will provide detailed explanations when these are added in future updates.
(I believe that adding requirements for food or supplies helps to create a sense of struggling for survival in a disaster, which effectively enhances the immersive experience.)
Game Content Plans

The rogue-like part of the gameplay is still very incomplete, with the current content pieced together from existing art assets. I plan to add more varied room background images in the future. The next room I plan to create is likely a resting room.
During the game development process, I increasingly realized the need for new UI to implement various features.
For instance, I want to implement a gameplay loop where players receive quests from the scribe nun, earn money by completing quests, and then trade food with merchants to maintain the church's operation. This involves dialogue systems, quest systems, and trading systems, all requiring new UI. Therefore, I plan to focus a lot of effort on UI redesign next.
These systems are related to character dialogues, so I am preparing to draw portraits for the NPCs.


Currently, we have portraits for the scribe nun and the merchant, which will be used in future updates.
Additionally, I plan to draw portraits for the protagonist and the succubus, as well as other future NPCs.

There are many ideas I want to incorporate into the game, but I cannot confirm their final form until they are realized in the game. If these ideas can be implemented in the game in the future, I will introduce them to everyone in detail.
