UPDATE: PG 1-2 Pencil Layouts, Scripts, Posters, ect.

Hey everyone!

Hidden Curves is finally underway—I’ve been working on the pencil layouts for the first two pages this week.

Here we see Viola alone in her boudoir, wrestling her voluptuous figure into the impossibly modest standards of 1949. I wanted to capture her self-consciousness and ground it in that classic noir mood—a dark room, Venetian blinds, and light slicing through from outside.

This is meant to be a two-page spread, so imagine the comic open—left and right pages working together. I always design with spreads in mind since it lets me shape pacing and composition more naturally.

If you’ve read the script, you might notice some differences—this layout reflects the rewrites I’ve been making after feedback from editors and test readers. I’ll be posting the finalized script later this week.

These are rough pencils, where I lock in the storytelling, layout, dialogue, and even some of the value structure. The heavy lifting happens here, so when I go to inks it’s all about polish and style.
