Dami and Yoohyeon were both 18 when Love Shake was released. The other 3 were adults.

2022-09-05 05:20:19 +0000 UTCI think now they don't have really big issues thinking about Minx days. They still joke around about it, sing old song sometimes, use lines from those songs. Handong and Gahyeon troll other members about it. But during early DC days it was just pain. I think somewhere Jiu said that Minx disbandment was hard for her because she felt like it's her personal fault as a leader. Siyeon said that she was not able to watch other groups performances because it's was her dream to perform on stage but she failed. I think Yoohyeon and Dami were around 16-17 years old when Minx MV's released? So some of shots are definitely "questionable". Also funny thing: you can recheck exactly this part where Jiu talks about Minx and pay attention to Siyeon face. She just said everything what she think about Minx with her face without any words :D

It's nice to hear them talk about themselves and their work in a more relaxed setting like this. On the solo tracks: I enjoy them all, but Entrancing is my clear favourite. It totally sounds like something from a historical drama, which I love. Probably my favourite b-side of the year so far, after I-DLE's Escape. And I'm always up for more interview stuff if you're interested. You already know about Zach Sang, but I have to stress again what a good interviewer he is. I remember really enjoying his interview with Stray Kids at Christmas, and I've watched his interview with Mamamoo a few times, highly recommend.

I like this interview though, like you said it's nice to change up the 1theK insanity with something like this every once in a while. I'm not through all of their Wonderwall videos yet (it's 4.5 hours π ), but from what I've seen, the members' creative input on Apocalypse was pretty varied. Some of them asked for a certain vibe or concept and took part in the lyrics, while Siyeon and Dami especially seem to have been more hands-on with the music, which makes sense. Your comment on Siyeon's speaking voice reminded me of this (headphone warning!): https://youtu.be/u0q9YwoBGuY I'd say MINX was pretty much what you'd expect a 2014 girl group to be (especially Love Shake, that's like your stereotypical summer love song), complete with the short shorts and risque camerawork, and that's one reason they changed the concept - they had some great songs, but they didn't stand out nor sell well, while Chase Me found a workable niche audience. That thing you said about New Yorkers is exactly my experience, btw π I was having a coffee on Times Square with my then-girlfriend and this random dude walked by, caught a second of eye contact, and proceeded to talk at us about American culture for twenty minutes. π In Sweden, we pretend strangers don't exist unless someone asks or visibly needs help, so that was odd. That whole thing actually happened less than half an hour before the Richard Rojas incident in 2017 - had I sipped on that coffee a little longer instead of walking back to my hotel, I would've been right there. New York was a good but weird weekend, man.
