This episode was both infuriating and heartbreaking at the same time. Really brings to the forefront how toxic the internet really can be at the most extreme, and fucked up humans are in general. Honestly makes me sick and wish I was another species. Apparently some of the people who watch this take more after the cyberbullies, be cause they've gotten to attacking the mom of the girl who the character is based on, just cuz she was understandably upset with the episode. Smfh.

2023-05-27 02:01:01 +0000 UTCI'd actually been waiting to see this episode. I just saw it right now and I had to ready myself a bit. One of the times that kinda getting something spoiled was a good thing because I think it would've been tough if I saw it without knowing what the episode was about. That being said I'm glad that it's out and has caused some conversations online about cyber bullying and also brought some cases to the forefront. As a victim of bullying, and having tried to do similar when I was a teen I think that a big issue is the age. Akane is 17 so it is completely understandable not dealing with it well. From personal experience I've gotten way more thick skinned and more sure of myself after around 24ish, before that I would've and did react like she did. I know a lot of people were hoping for Aqua to save her and were relieved when he did. My hope is that it makes people see that even though the other cast members were worried about her and sending her nice texts, that isn't enough to cut through that despair. If you see a friend is struggling, actually show up when possible, invite them somewhere, talk face to face or if that is difficult at least reach out to someone like a family member of theirs to try to get them professional help. Those small things really do help so much in those times. Anyways long rant over, sorry, I loved your guy's reactions to this like always and it was a great episode!

2023-05-22 16:53:05 +0000 UTCCancel culture and online bullying is not the same thing. online bullying is topic of this ep .......... "Cancel culture" is pretty a much politically loaded buzz world, it's only used by the right wing when they wants say something negative to minorities, women, lgbtq to courter "protest" by the left. Using today logic by right wing MLK used ""Cancel culture" with montgomery buses... notice the right wing themselves never was accused of "Cancel culture" from being against the kneeling of kaepernick? ....... or backflash against Halle Bailey? In fact the racist back flash of Halle Bailey Little Mermaid is good example of online bullying. How ever yes online bullying is problem there more incidents unfortunately other than Hana it's good this show draw attention to that. The political buzz words and the sneak defense of people accused of sexism and homophobia was unnecessary.

2023-05-22 16:34:04 +0000 UTCNo offense, but as similar as the story is, it isn't a unique one. There have actually been many cases of suicide bc of cyber bullying. If I'm correct, way back an artist committed self deletion because the steven universe Fandom didn't like how she apparently drew rose quartz "slimmer" than cannon. Something something....fat phobia. Also for the past few years cancel culture has been JUMPING on accusations on youtubers for sexual crimes (only for most of them to be false too). Also for the past couple of months, people have been wildin with the hogwarts game, acting absolutely atrocious towards certain vtubers/etc. Basically, she unfortunately doesn't have ownership over this, especially since her daughters situation is alot more "common" than she thinks. Cancel culture is everywhere. And most, cannot handle it, sadly.

2023-05-22 02:36:41 +0000 UTCShe's upset that the studio and mangaka never asked for her consent to adapt this part of the story since it's so similar to what happened in real life and the anniversary of her death is near

2023-05-22 02:23:45 +0000 UTCI was right there with Taylor man. Just slumped in my seat as soon as Aqua showed up to save her. I kept praying he was keeping an eye on her in his stalked fashion for sure! π£ Man this ep was too real and showed that this anime is not afraid to go into it no matter how dark the subject is. I'm kind of impressed from the mangaka and animators for taking this chance and for almost, cause there are shit heads out there sadly, everyone respecting their choice. π€

2023-05-21 21:16:43 +0000 UTCWhat's crazy about this is that the mother of Hana Kimura said she despised the episode and now she's getting hate for it on twitter which is absolutely insane

2023-05-21 21:07:35 +0000 UTCsaid what I needed in your tweet "TragicallyDelicious" for comment reference, so I'll end it with great reaction guys i love how you all have thick skin I can never understand the thought process of you don't like my anime or character you can just DIE or something of the sort id never its not that serious, let's say Sherm said for the sake of argument "I don't like Shield Hero I especially hate Raphtalia" ok that's your opinion you don't have to like what I like that's fine i'm here for honesty you fit my bill i'm not biting the hand that feeds me. anyways I've rambled enough love you guys and the funny foolery you produce.

2023-05-21 20:54:51 +0000 UTCPeople are saying the whole akane situation was paralleling a real life situation that happened. The tragic story of Hana Kimura

2023-05-21 20:39:50 +0000 UTCI actually made a couple reels about this episode on the Instagram for my book and podcast. Imagine going through this, not being famous, and having it go on for years. I also never had an Aqua to save me. I have been dealing with this behavior since I was 13 or 14. And I never thought it would ever be represented in fiction ever.
