2025-02-24 02:10:04 +0000 UTCAs someone who lives in Glasgow I can confirm that the 'Ra tunes or IRA tunes refer to the old rebel songs which are generally banned in protestant and uk bars and pubs. They are linked with the IRA, though they are just mainly folk songs that speak to the old Irish way of life. I've often been in pubs and friends 'gaffs' and someone requests get the Rebs, or the RA tunes on. Authentic Irish instead of the usual tourist stuff you see these days
