023 - Sandstone Ruins

Huddled close together around their campfire, they could sense a haunting presence around them; Many eyes watching, in the darkness. They couldn't sleep well that night and were constantly on edge.
A little background info of the ruins: It's based on an actual site in Mesa Verde National Park. They belonged to the ancestors of the Puebloans called the Anasazi. The figure watching them is a Kachina spirit of the Hopi tribe.

I've been there! The name "Anasazi" means "enemy" in Hopi, I think. They mysteriously disappeared and even their own name is unknown, except for what the other nations around them called them.
