Upper Tiles: Foliage and Shadows

Hello! I think that today's release will be a useful one!

You've seen these before, but I don't think that I've shared the assets.

Last summer, when we were working on the monster project, these upper-layer foliage and shadow tiles were visible in my gameplay videos. Some patrons were interested in these, but at the time I was focused on the monsters and put it aside... until now :)

This week I was recently working with these tiles. I wanted to expand them a bit for my own use, and figured that it was a good chance to share the updated set with the patron group.

This ended up being a pretty nice little tileset, and designed to be really versatile.

It's intended to be on a top layer. No collision, above the player and other tiles. Intended to fade nicely into black. It should fade into black like you see in my preview above.

It includes:

Note: this set uses pure black and pure white, and because of the "dirty" fading effects, it's not gonna be a good match for classic Time Fantasy. Best used with Elements or other full-color styles.

alpha: It is also makes use of alpha transparencies. In modern game engines there's not any problems with restricting that (like there was back in the rm2k3 days)-- but if you are going to edit the image files then its worth mentioning.

Anyways, here are the Downloads:

As usual with any tileset add-on that I release, these are arranged in a regular grid so they can easily be added to any existing tileset.

For RPG Maker Users: this one should work directly without needing to manually add it as an add-on.

------

Another note: I didn't test these in RPGMaker at all, for me I tested them out in game maker. If the transparency is a problem tho then lmk thanks and I'll take a look.

------

Okay-- I'll be back later in the week with something fresh. See you then.

Thanks!

Thanks. This should make forests easier since I can’t figure out how to make thickets of trees with Elements tiles.
