I think the decision was made by Andrew to not come back but then again give the man a lot of money and a good story and he may come back in future seasons after the movies cause who knows anything can happen at this point

2018-11-08 09:47:41 +0000 UTCAnyone watch The Talking Dead after 9x5? Scott Gimple was talking about new TV movies, and that Rick will be some smaller side-stories. So we'll get to see back stories of other randoms and Rick, but no more Rick in TWD. I'm not sure how to feel about that. I sort of wish Andrew Lincoln would've been fine with his salary and role on the show.
