Fear is the Mindkiller...
Added 2020-04-24 22:42:25 +0000 UTCHey folks! There's an adventure in Kingdoms & Warfare, the finale of which is part of the ongoing playtest. That testing is going pretty well right now, though it's still very early.
For that finale, we needed a new monster and so Jason and I got together with freelancer James Introcaso and our new full-time artist Grace, and we talked about what this creature was, what it looked like, how it worked, as well as stuff like...what role does it play, what kind of design space does it occupy.
It's not the boss, for instance. It serves the Voiceless Talkers, it works for someone else, so it shouldn't look maximally powerful and dangerous. We had to pull back on the visual design a little to stop it from competing with other future monsters we have planned.
Then James went and designed it and Grace illustrated it! A process that includes a lot of back and forth with me and Jason.
This is not the final product, it is very much a work in progress. It will change a lot based on playtesting and feedback and I think there's at least one more pass on the art? But it seems like the perfect thing to share with you patrons.
I hope you dig it! And more stuff like this will be forthcoming as Kingdoms & Warfare gets closer to being done.

I can get a great use of this for my homebrew word... Nice work. But I wish to know, is there any physical difference or other way for an outsider to know there is a difference between the normal and the master?
