Oh, that's Samm Levine from Freaks & Geeks in the ads for the beanies, cool. I used to work in corp IT for a famous online internet auction site (ahem), not during the beanie craze, but in the years after. I don't think you can underestimate the impact that half-stuffed plush toy had on their fortunes, and how desperately they chased another beanie baby situation in the decade after (and how instead they faced debacle after debacle). Maybe your Beanies in Urban Settings series deserves to be a spinoff project of its own! Like Blythe, but with more social realism. And maybe that will kick of renewed interest in the toy, and the cycle will begin again! :)
