Here's a bonus song! Not a video game cover this time - it's a classic by Death from their album "The Sound of Perseverance"...this is probably my favourite song of theirs to play because there's so many different slow/fast sections and it's one of my favourite Death songs in general - a metal classic. There's plenty of mistakes of course - I'm still quite rusty when it comes to playing bass regularly - but this is a great song for warming up the fingers. Enjoy!
Bass tuned down a full step to D. The bass was originally played by the late Scott Clendenin, who played bass on both Symbolic and Sound of Perseverance. The almighty Steve DiGiorgio is usually the first name that comes to mind as far as Death's bassists go because his fretless sound mixed with the band's thrash was so different, but Clendenin was a fine bassist - a more straight ahead pick player, but that hard edge complimented the band nicely on Death's final, most wide-ranging records as Chuck Schuldiner got ever more experimental with his song craft and guitar playing. A shame that we only ever got his brief work with Control Denied to see where he would have gone from here.
