Yeah, that's what I thought. I just thought it was a fun comparison. I know Quetzelcoatl was supposed to be a rainbow serpent. After Black Pearl, I was obsessed with Cortes and the Aztecs. I was disappointed to learn he was little better than a glorified pirate, sent on a suicide mission to the new world.
