How to play Elvenfoundry in desktop mode
Added 2024-11-29 08:37:04 +0000 UTCThis method uses a shortcut to the Elvenfoundry executable with a command, and since Windows doesn't like downloading that (understandable), because commands can sometimes be malicious, it was sometimes triggering Windows Defender for the download. So I had to remove this shortcut from the zip file.
So I will show you how to create it yourself in just a couple of steps:
1- Once the download is unziped, right click the Elvenfoundry executable and create a shortcut
2- Right click the shortcut you just created and click "Properties". Under the "shortcut" category, look for the line that says "Target" and add at the end "-nohmd". This will tell Unreal to launch the game without VR.
That's it! You can now launch the game with this shortcut and it will enable desktop mode.
