I had really complicated feelings when I read the shadow of what was lost. The writing didn’t feel terrible and I have a high tolerance for tropes, but I swear some of the book felt pulled whole cloth from other books. Idk, people online didn’t seem to really make any connections to other books. 100% I voted for it just because I want another person’s insight edit to add: I just refreshed my memory of the books, I still remember enjoying the series overall and there’s interesting stuff done that’s wholly Islington’s.
