IU did a lot of dancing for this comeback :-) The title of "The Red Shoes" refers to the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, in which a pair of red shoes forces the wearer to keep dancing. I think the MV references the 1948 film inspired by the fairy tale. I liked your observation about how some of IU's lyrics are really specific! 50 cm = 19.7 inches hehe As far as IU's feelings about performing older songs ... Maybe an old super cute song like "Love Attack" is a bit cringe, but she still pulled that out for a fan concert in 2023. Also, she talked a bit about some ambivalence toward "Good Day" - probably many artists have complicated feelings towards their first mega hit. Knees and Heart are consistently on her list of favorite songs. Somehow the fact that you liked "Bad Day" reminds me that you also liked "The Abandoned (aka A Stray Puppy)" on the previous album. Actually IU composed both songs! There are other live performances of "Bad Day", and she even played guitar to accompany herself a few times.
