Several months of work... and finally, my team and I can say that version 0.3 is done!

There's a lot I want to say about this update. As I mentioned in the previous post, this update didn’t turn out exactly as I originally expected, buuuuuuut, what ended up being cut wasn’t too much—I'd say around 5-6k words that should have been there. Mainly because we weren’t fully convinced by how that part of the script turned out. That script is still with us, though, and once it’s refined, it’ll be content we already have on hand to release in a future update much faster, which is great.

Just like in the previous update, we went through a process of experimenting with several things that caught us a bit off guard. As you’ll see in some of the new scenes, we included the use of chibis, as well as illustrative panels that I like to call "Comic-CG". It's a really useful idea that lets us depict things that wouldn’t really justify a full sprite on their own and also takes up less space. Of course, this addition caused a slight delay, since—as you’ll probably notice from the difference in quality—some of these were drawn by me, some by my main artist, and a couple by another team member. Working on these meant we couldn’t focus on other things. That said, I think the effort was worth it, even if it delayed things a little more.

For this update, I had promised better system mechanics, but we decided to postpone that due to how heavy this update ended up being. The good news is that for the next one, we’ll be focusing fully on the mechanical side of things, aiming to make the game more of a true sandbox and not just a visual novel with some boring mechanics tacked on.

I hope the new content is to most people’s liking. Personally, I had a lot of fun making some parts of it, and not so much with others (mainly due to my inexperience—ahem, the sexual scenes), but I think I used some good references and ended up with something decent… I hope......
