Or the cabin video.
Basically I spent a month isolated in Russian countryside setting up shots with a broken tripod and dressing up in a suit made from whatever I could find in the attic.
Originally I had a location and a Halloween theme (it was October but eventually I chose to push Pelinal forward and ignore the holiday) but as I was making it the whole thing grew into a story and developed a world around it. There is even another video which I shot on the same location a year ago that now ties into the same world.
The big turning point was the creature suit. I think I really wanted to have some version of that tundra demon from the Might Boosh pilot but because of its make-shift nature and limited tools it came out more unique. I absolutely HATED cutting that thick ass gardening hose into monster claws and the mask with those wire-hairs took some time to figure out but once it was finished where was no turning back.
The first time I had to don the monster suit outside I had an audience of some stan-country builders (the only people who could see me in the whole village) comfortably positioned on a roof of a house being built (like a block away from me). And so they watched as a Russian man brought their ancient clan curse to life:D
I also made Japanese geta. First time crafting something out of wood and absolutely sucking at it. The result are geta that would often break but made the image of the antagonist of the video complete. Specially in those black and white snowy night shots. The sound in the video is the actual sound they make walking on wood.
I was always into filming stuff but this one might've been the first video there I really tried to control each shot. Light, camera angle, decorations and so on. Not all scenes came out as intended but personally I am proud of a lot of shots in it.
Even tho I was doing everything myself most of the time (again Might Boosh one actor many characters vibes) I had two people visiting help with camera work on two different scenes and my mom made the monster nest.
To conclude I am super happy that so many new and old subs loved something rather unorthodox from me. We are also discovering more followers from my own country so it's an interesting scene out there on the channel now.
And of course thank you ma Hlaalu Merchants, my friends. I appreciate you for jumping on board and sticking around.
There are Elder Scrolls videos coming, there are other games videos coming and this new original universe will be expanded upon. Mainly I still plan to up the production value on everything and explore different genre blends till it is something that you can just refer to as AllinAll.
Thank you!
