One of the assets I lost was my recent Dragonslayer (more commonly known as the Rail With a Handle) sword shader. Although there are shots where the sword is 2D and stylized I needed a more detailed version in a few other cases (such as the Guillotine (or GoPro on a sword) shot you've seen in the trailer.
This time Uluncha remodelled the whole of the sword for me and I tried recreating my lost shader. The key design element I took from the Sword of Berserk game (cool game, amazing soundtrack by maestro Hirasawa himself).
Specifically from a the game's opening video because in the gameplay the sword has a more typical black middle part with a straight contrasting edge separating it from the metal blades. BUT! In that opening video the black middle transitions into the grey metal smoothly, with no edge line, as if the metal just darkened to the middle.
I think this is more fitting to the 'hip of raw iron' quality of our phallic symbol here.
This should fit in with the shots of the previous version but also a big part of why now I accepted losing my files. I do not like making things forever but there were a few shots I wasn't 100% happy with so I am treating this as an opportunity!
I did loose a few scenes I was 99% happy with so those have to lvl-up now. I already have my ideas.
