I know I'm very late to comment this but no one else said anything. Nick Saban was a QB in high school but in college he played defensive back and after playing and graduating that's when he became a graduate assistant there at Kent St

2024-02-27 00:18:24 +0000 UTCNever heard of Nick Saban until he became the Mich State coach. Never thought he'd become the legend he ultimately became. However, whoever coaches Bama knows that they are going to get a chance to recruit the very best high school talent no matter where they come from. Kids from Texas will sometimes pass on every Texas school to go to Bama. Same with Florida and California etc. If my son had been a high school phenom and been recruited by all of the big football programs, I still would have wanted him to play in our home state of Washington. My son with to private school and it wasn't big enough to have a sport program of any kind.
