While it depends on the State, generally in the US we have Murder, which is an intentional killing, and is broken down to 1st degree (premeditated) and 2nd degree (not premeditated). Then we have voluntary manslaughter (intent to inflict serious bodily harm) and involuntary manslaughter (reckless negligence). What Landry did most likely would fall under voluntary manslaughter.

2024-08-09 05:33:15 +0000 UTCI think Nick is right about the American legal system. I think what Landry did is “involuntary manslaughter”. We do also have different “degrees” of murder but I have no idea what they are. And yes to get Landry on anything more serious a prosecutor would have to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that Landry intended to kill that man, which is virtually impossible, so a prosecutor likely wouldn’t even try it.
