Thats fair, there's no way to say one way or the other.. Thinking back I don't think we ever see 2m receive pass or serve in their match. Hinata is very bad at all three aspects atm, but that doesn't mean Hyakuzawa better. 2m a better blocker. Hinata's a more developed hitter as he can hit more than crosses. 2m can HIT tho; Noya struggles with 2m spikes until they game plan around it. Either way I still totally get the camp rosters with it being Washijo's picks; 2m has barely been playing and is the engine of his team and has so much room for growth. Good coaching is all he needs to become adequate at rec/pass/serve but you can't coach height or his ability to get that high for blocks/hits. And we all know how Washijo feels about Hinata :(. In an ideal situation, they'd both get to be there as they both have so much potential to be great.

2025-02-18 19:07:46 +0000 UTCA funny little tidbit that the anime didn't show was that Daichi actually got a little shorter. He was arguing with Shimizu, telling her that she pressed down harder than usual, when she measured him. She denied it of course. He was quite salty about it too😆 The manga has a couple of little Daichi moments where we can actually see, that yes he is in fact only a 17 almost 18 year old high schooler (espescially when he is with his fellow 3rd years) and not always just the levelheaded adult like captain. And I love it so much. He's one of my favourites <3

2025-02-18 17:42:51 +0000 UTCYeah it's not stated that Hyakuzawa is better than Hinata, that's why his whole team was protecting him last we saw him play, in his case it's really pure potential that got him there. He is definitely talented to pick things up as fast as he did but at the moment he too does hyperfocus on just slamming down the ball, because that's what his team wanted him to concentrate on, similar to how it is with Hinata. That said with his height and the talent that he has it's clear that with proper training he will be a menace in his 2nd year. Aside from that I agree with goose completely, including being happy that he went anyway.

2025-02-17 17:45:51 +0000 UTCTsukki Kogane and Hyakuzawa were picked bc of Washijo's narrow concept of potential. Also Tssuki and Kogane are better at receiving passing setting and serving than Hinata. Hyakuzawa got picked bc he is so overwhelmingly tall, and has picked up the fundamentals within a year to a level he's probably better than Hinata at everything. Like Kageyama says of Hinata in S3 "your receives suck, your serves are awful, but there is only one reason you are on the court. To score points". Hinata should really be at a fundamentals training camp, not a top 1st years camp. He's got crazy tunnel vision on spiking, and pretty much ignores everything else. Also, it's mad disrespectful to Sensei and Young Ukai who put in soooo much effort to create/develop relationships with the other programs so they could get practice matches and invites to the joint training camps. Hinata could be jeopardizing all of that in a rigid rules/respect based society like Japan; it reflects on Sensei and Coach as coaches (shows their players lack of discipline and respect, as well as not having control over their players). All that said; IM SO GLAD HE WENT!!!!

2025-02-17 17:44:19 +0000 UTCI get why people think hinata should not have done this and I agree but I also have another perspective here. Hinata is not good enough to be invited but if you see the 2 metre guy hyakuzawa was invited and he has only played volleyball for months, Kogane the big Date Tech Setter he is a newbie as well and it's safe to say Hinata has better skills than both of those guys yet they were invited because they were tall. Which is kinda unfair as well. Also if you think about it even Tsukki only shined in the second Interhighs after they trained with boku and others. So i understand why hinata would feel so frustrated. In Hinata's perspective Hinata could think like Oh So You Picked Hyakuzawa and Kogane just because they are huge or you picked Tsukki after just one game but I have won so many games. The Game against Seijo it was Hinata who scored the point against Shiratorizawa it was him again. So Yeah that's my opinion yes what hinata did was wrong but it was unfair to call him not good enough as well especially since Hyakuzawa and Kogane are there who are novices too

2025-02-17 14:45:42 +0000 UTCJust an FYI the art style has changed since the previous szns. There are a few reasons I've seen floating around but the main one being covid restrictions on the animation studio. This style however looks a lot more faithful to the manga.
