So, I actually only tried this show because it was being recommended on here so much. So I'm fresh eyes to the series... that said, this being my first re-watch alongside you guys. I noticed that Yui actually *did* try to bring it up, once. A couple episodes ago when she found him alone at lunch outside (The ep we meet pretty boy Totsuka) she was working her way up to the topic by asking him if he "remembered" the first day orientation speech. I think she was trying to casually "reveal" that she missed it too... probably to mention "Oh I was walking my dog that day and it almost got hit so I didn't go to school that day!" to like... tell him without telling him that she knows it's him? Kind of thing. Just an interesting detail I didn't pick up on the first watch.

2025-05-24 08:57:03 +0000 UTCIt's not that Yuigahama is from a wealthy family, she was walking with her dog, it escaped, it was going to be run over by a fancy car, then Hikigaya saved it. And I think the major problem here in Hikigaya's mind is that he thinks she's being nice to him because she feels guilty not of the fact that he got hurt saving her dog, but that he missed the start of highschool and ended up with no friends. So she's being a friend to him out of pity.
