Im really glad you guys are watching the other two movies before picking up the new season. They have a lot of content that would make the first episode of S2 even more jarring. As you can tell from this movie ALONE, in particular the context surrounding Kaede would be very jarring without having seen this movie. While a lot of people find this particular movie a bit "boring" simply because it focuses on the characters and minimally on the supernatural stuff... it's still a great movie. I actually really appreciate that when we drop away the Adolesence Syndrome "gimmick" (not a bad thing) that all of the bonds and connections of the characters really holding up. When Sakuta wishes Kaede luck at the station and lets her do the other half of the trip on her own to the exam... I tear up. After everything both of them have been through its HUGE that she can even get on that train without him. Let alone making the effort to show up to a public school, with a bunch of strangers, and take that not-easy test. Even if she was doing it for the wrong reasons in the end, it doesn't change how much stronger shes gotten to do that. I look forward to the next movie; though, I hope you guys have already done the research because I know the next movie is... difficult to get a hold of. Took me awhile to find a way to watch it. It is worth the effort though! Great movie! Though obviously it's really hard for any movie to stand up to the first one in pure emotional investment...
