2025-10-12 21:31:09 +0000 UTCThe thing about Tomo's name, I think it's because in Japan it's really common to see different ppl with the same last name, but that are from completely different families, with no relation at all. It usually differs by how it's written, like which kanji are used to write their names, even if it has the same pronunciation. That's why even in anime you sometimes have characters introducing themselves explaining how their names are written. Like in the first episode of Bunny Girl Senpai, where Mai and Sakuta explained how their names are written when they met. Even in Horimiya, when Hori asked Miyamura's first name, and he wrote it for her in a piece of paper, he did it to show her which kanji were used to write his name.
