I loved s2 more than s1 actually. Think of the lore you got and so many things set up for future arcs. S3 was more action heavy and I didn't mind it but I would have liked more lore... You could feel things that could have been delved into just a tiny bit more. There is just one thing I hate about s2 is that it didn't get the original ending. If you're interested in how awesome it could have been, Echidnut has a video on it. I really don't consider it a spoiler because from what I've heard it hasn't been addressed yet even in the LN. So I doubt it will ever be animated at this point.

2025-10-22 22:44:20 +0000 UTCI gotta say, though I still like season 2, it's the weakest for me, and rewatching it is an absolute slog Highlights were the Parent and Child episode (Subaru's first trial), any time the witches are on screen (except microwave plate echidna lol) including the disturbing Emilia scenes, and Emilia's trial, the lore saved it for me from being bottom tier. also the opening scene with Rem was an incredible scene. I'm really hoping there's payoff down the line for season 2 though

2025-10-22 12:40:30 +0000 UTCSeason 2 was not that bad; there are a lot of good things in Season 2 (The Witch, Subaru learning to love himself, Garfield growing up, and Roswald). But yeah, if you compare it to seasons 1 and 3, it's probably the least good.
