To be fair, Crow Girl did not confirm it was the dad or even mention the dad at all. She just said there were 2 suspicious people and one of them, the older one, was the deranged fan who killed her (who died right after) WE, the audience, knew it was the dad because that's who Aqua was chasing this entire time. But Ruby does not have that info.
