Quick Progress Update!

Hi Guys,

So! I've managed to finalise my procedure for the resin to be used on the tiles (hurrah!) but the final tests are not cured and finished so I cant quite show them off (hurroo...)

The main reason it's taken this long is its a bit more complex than just 'make water look good', partially due to the river bed materials to enable me to get a better looking finish giving bubble issues, but also because of the little trick we'll be using to fool the eyes and save us some resin, while giving an awesome effect (see previous updates)

But FINALLY I'm able to keep moving forwards with the actual tile construction. I've been busy today casting some plaster rocks and aiming to further solidify my leopard spotting formula to get consistent, realistic results, as well as how to get the best results from plaster. Once I've got these tips fine tuned, I'll be mentioning them in full in a video, possibly a bonus video, we'll see :)

I also plan on using some actual rocks in this build, to take advantage of their varied colouring and textures to add some variety to the plaster rocks! We'll see how that turns out, but they look pretty nice in the right positions once embedded in dirt (not yet pictured!)

The model is from Epic Miniatures, last months sponsor and probably this month's one too - these are some awesome little fishfolk that are totally-not-Murlocs and fit the water theme nicely!

Finally, here are some wider shots of the larger corners, and how the large corner tiles break up. as you can see, its incredibly flexible, and when combined with the smaller corners and open water tiles, can let you build close to any water scenario you might dream of.

And for anyone wondering, those ripples are durable as HELL. I was a little worried before testing but damn. They resilient...

Hope you guys enjoy these little insights, and I'll see you all soon! Or on Discord. Probably sooner on Discord if you hang out there 😂
