The painting goes ever on and on...

Hi guys,

Quick update, me and Faye are deep in painting now, the final stage before photography and editing, where at least you guys get some more cool pictures of what's possible!

Faye has been a massive help on this project, and it's definitely made it feasible despite my limited ability to work the hours I'm used to. My long covid symptoms continue to decline, glacially as ever, but the progress is there. I no longer need to limit my pace when walking or end up out of breath. Small hills still do me in though...

The good news is I'm almost at a point where I can work the majority of a working day without having crash days, far more so than say, a month ago! I honestly cannot thank you all enough for your patience 😊

Longer term, I'm hoping to use your support to hire someone to help me out, as Faye can't help indefinitely, and expand the crafting space to fit them...Faye is also more accommodating than most employees would probably be of the cramped quarters!

In other news, the neutral grey paint I use recently changed its formula, switching out titanium dioxide.

The colour is identical, but it mixes very differently, and is far less strong. my standard basecoat mix came out tan! We ended up having to repaint 1/3 or so of the pieces, frustratingly...

If you're having different outcomes to me in your mixes, this may be why, and its also worth keeping an eye on the formula's of your own paints each time you buy them if they're visible, I certainly will be from now on...

In the long run I would love to arrange a custom paint line so I could ensure things like this don't happen, paints dont get discontinued unexpectedly and so on - more as a benefit to the community/my own crafting than for any attempt at income. But that's a ways away, for now at least!

I hope you guys are having more luck in your projects!

Matt

Comments

They are, I will admit its fine on walls but on temple blocks it's a time sink. That said I'm invested now and need things to match for videos, so I'm kinda committed...

After just finishing cutting and scoring brick tiles with half the density of this, I'm both sad I went with such big bricks and glad! These look great but look like they took forever.

Nice news you're recovering! Keep you and yours sage, we will gladly wait for your return. Thanks again for your work, i'll run my first DnD session with maps using your carfting tiles methods and part of my players already are super hyped only by seeing all the asset I have been able to make pleased to your video and Doc â˜ș
