Diagonal update video 2 - Getting an editor and upcoming 3d printing insulation video!

Hi Guys!

Just managed to get this done at the end there today, just a general update on how things are going, what's coming up and what I've been doing since I came back from holiday :)

Enjoy my rambling, if that's your thing 😅

If you want to get real fancy and directly measure resin temperature during printing you could use a K type thermocouple with a readout. It's essentially just a stainless steel probe tip attached to some wires that you can run under the dust cover and out. You would probably need to make a bracket to keep the probe in place and out of the way during printing. There is a ~$30 version off amazon that comes with a set-able hi/lo temperature alarm: https://www.amazon.com/Thermocouple-Thermometer-Temperature-Measurement-Compensation/dp/B0BJ5NN2WN/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=j%2Btype%2Bthermocouple&qid=1704322697&sr=8-4&th=1 You would still need to manually adjust temperature on your brewer's belt though

I don't temperature control at all, it's just set to max. I haven't seen my resin get warmer than 33 degrees and never colder than 20. Brewers belts are designed to keep running for weeks at a time and are low energy, and don't heat up enough to be dangerous, but the vat is also much smaller than a huge bucket of fermenting beer, so it works well. In terms of checking the temperature every now and again, I have one of those laser thermometer. I obviously take the lid off before shooting the resin. Cleaning the vat is no issue because the brewer belt is wrapped around it, but not glued to it or anything. I literally take it off. And yes it's true that it's not designed to be used on metal, but like not using a down stepper for the glue gun, all I can say is to exercise caution, use good sense, and if your belt is worn for some reason then it's best to replace it. And to add, I do nothing else for the temperature besides the belt. I don't use grow tents, boxes, light, nothing. If you want to experiment, this is the exact belt that I use that's currently £25. You'll even see some reviews mentioning resin printers. Honestly, I think you would be very surprised by how effective this is. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0963YQG67/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

How do you manage temperature control? Without having to manually adjust for changes in temperature? I use a temp controller with the box but obviously it measures air temp not resin temp, so even if the sensor was in the box cover I'm not sure it would accurately measure as the resin would probably be higher temp than the air? Also how is cleaning the vat/replacing fep etc with it attached? Apparently it's also not meant to be used on metal as if the coating wears away it's an electrocution risk... There are a few things that put me off the belt like that, tempted to try it but it seems riskier/similar levels of awkward than the insulation box overall
