33. The nights

Sure, the things could be laced with some potions or something. BUT that is precisely why I came prepared. Currently around my neck is an enchanted necklace. Its purpose being detection of any harmful foreign substance, and subsequently purging the thing.
“Sure.” Taking the lemon drop I unwrapped it and popped it on my mouth. Let me tell you those things are SOUR. So sour in fact that my necklace almost went off. I bet if I were to look at the chemical composition of the thing I would find out it's mostly made of citric acid and nothing else. All of this is to say, I kind of like it.
“Good good, almost no one takes me up on the offer. What do you think?” The old man looked almost eager to talk about his candy. If I didn’t know better, I would think he forgot what he had actually called me to his office for.
“I like it, although I can understand why most wouldn’t like them. They are very sour.” At that Dumbledore nodded with satisfaction. It was a moment later however that a more serious expression settled on his old face.
“A yes, well leaving the sweets aside-” I had to contain a snort at that, those things had nothing sweet to them, and from the looks of it, he noticed. “-I wanted to talk about your accommodations for the coming full moon, seeing as there is only a week left.” Yup, I had guessed this was the reason he called for me. To tell the truth, I had expected him to call me much sooner. Although I guess he could have been busy preparing whatever accommodations he would offer me.
“Yes, about that, there might be some trouble with that.” Afterall, with Sophia being aware of my condition. Not to mention the forced promise she got out of me well… things might get complicated.
“Oh and why is that?” So I began explaining.
“Well, Sophia Potter, my roommate, is well aware of my condition. She discovered it when I came back into our shared room through the window while still being in my wolf form.” Before Albus could interrupt me, and I knew he would. I brought up my hand to silence him. I could clearly see both the worry and the question he wanted to ask.
“She is fine and uninfected. As I said before, I can control myself while being a wolf, although not fully.” And I could see the relief on the old man's face. I mean I get it being a werewolf is a real bitch and all.
“This is relevant because she forced me to promise to let her tag along the next time I turn. If I were to disappear and not take her along I am convinced she would break curfew and look for me. I don’t believe I have to tell you how dangerous it can be outside the castle at night.”
I really didn’t as Albus just nodded with a frown. He could of course increase surveillance to make sure the girl didn’t escape however, that would mean more work for everybody involved and a very discontented Sophia.
“I see. Originally, I had prepared a place you could use for those nights. However, you are right. Do you have any suggestions?” At that I smiled before speaking. The old man made it sound like he didn’t have any. I am sure he had many solutions inside that head of his but he was asking for my opinion to make sure I would be satisfied as well.
“As a matter of fact I do. I was sure this conversation would happen after the secret came out and so I gave it some thought. The easiest solution would be to allow me and Sophia to stay at Hagrid’s hut during the full moon nights. Hagrid being a half-giant is immune to the curse, and could look after us. His hut is removed enough that no one should see us. Finally, Sophia gets to spend time with wolf-me while being supervised by a responsible adult.”
That last bit got a smile out of the old man. Afterall, lovable as the half-giant might be, he isn't the most reliable. At least for most things, he IS great at handling magical beasts. Especially so thanks to his giant given strength.
“I see, quite the proposal and I can’t see fault in it. However, for the coming full moon I will have professor Flitwick accompany you as well just in case. That being said, I have had professor snape begin brewing wolfsbane for-” Before he could continue I decided to interrupt him. No way in hell I was drinking that poison.
“Sorry to interrupt but I would rather not drink that. I am willing to compromise however.” At that Albus nodded for me to continue.
“Let Flitwick and Hagrid hold the potions. If I go out of control, which I assure you I won’t, they can shove the thing down my throat.” After that we spent a few more minutes talking specifics. In the end I agreed to be tied while I turn to prevent me from escaping if I were to go out of control. Afterall, Hagrid might be able to wrestle me down. He sure as hell won’t be able to catch me if I decide to run.
The rest of the week went by rather fast. Boring classes, Draco antagonising Harry, the usual. Then the night of the full moon came. Using the tempus charm I saw that it was currently six and so I should get moving.
“Is it time?” Sophia asked with both worry and excitement painted all over her face. That almost made me laugh, instead I just gave her a warm smile before I nodded. Seeing as curfew would start at eight, we had all the time in the world to get to Hagrid’s hut.
“Who’s there?” After knocking the rumbling voice of the half-giant came from the other side as well as the barks of fang. A moment later the door swung open to show the man and the dog.
“Ah yer here, come on in.” Once inside we chatted for the better part of an hour and a half about this and that. Nothing truly important. Then a knock on the door was heard. Once open professor Flitwick could be seen standing on the other side. Now let me tell you, the height comparison between Hagrid and Flitwick is hilarious. With the half goblin only reaching Hagrid’s knees at best.
“Is everything ready?” Flitwick asked looking up and up at Hagrid who gave him a nod. Going outside the hut I remembered something rather important.
“Excuse me but I need to change first. I don't want my uniform to get damaged.” Having said that, I got permission from Hagrid to use his hut to change. So I went in and stripped to my birthday suit. Then I took out my dimension spandex shorts and bra. Both enchanted to be extra stretchy and extra tough to damage.
Coming out of the hut earned me interesting looks from everyone. A while later Sophia stood behind Hagrid, with Flitwick standing next to him. I on the other hand had my waist tied with a thick iron chain to a wooden poll a few meters away.
The next couple of minutes went in tense silence until I felt it. The atmospheric magic had been steadily shifting towards its full-moon alignment. I of course had left my enchanted pendant behind. Could I have revealed its existence? Sure, but then questions would be asked. Questions that I would be hard pressed to answer.
Instead, I was focusing on fighting the transformation without aid. I did this by using my own magic to keep the atmospheric magic at bay. This however, wasn’t just hard but also tiring. Soon enough I lost the struggle and the free flowing moon aligned mana flowed unimpeded into me.
The burning sensation in my body started as I shifted. White silvery fur grew all over as I gained half a foot or so in height. My nails grew into wickedly sharp claws and my teeth turned into fangs as my jaw formed into a muzzle. Ears grew and shifted to the top of my head. And it all hurt like a royal bitch.
While all of that happened I casted my duplicate mind spell. Soon enough the transformation finished and my wolf self howled in elation at being free once more… kind of. She really didn’t like being changed. Thankfully before she could start trying to tear the chain off by force my magic self instead guided her to undo the knot.
Seeing that both Flitwick and Hagrid calmed down. That is until a girl shaped bullet dashed towards me with delight a light on her face. Before either of them could try and stop her Sophia glomped on me hard enough to force my rather strong wolf self to take a step back.
“You’re so warm” Sophia’s delight was muffled by my fluffy chest fur as I wrapped her in a hug. It was then I noticed that she was shivering from the cold. Seeing as I hadn’t harmed her, both men sighed with relief. What came next was a few hours of Sophia playing with me. Did I feel insulted when she took a stick and threw it as if to play fetch? Maybe a little. Did wolf me care? Hell no.
We played fetch as well as tag and hide and seek. Wolf me did not know nor want to hold back however so I got myself a very pouty Sophia when she lost to me on those games multiple times in a row. By then it was already rather late and the girl looked ready to pass out. Which she promptly did on the matters Hagrid had prepared for her inside his hut. The fun thing is that my wolf self wouldn’t take no for an answer and forced herself inside the hut to cuddle my pup.
“No, silver, no licking or you go back out.” I whined at that. I really wanted to groom my sleeping pup. She just looked so adorable while cuddling into my warm fur. Even so my magic self made my wolf self understand that licking isn’t the best idea.
The rest of the night went by as Flitwick and Hagrid took turns watching over us to make sure we would be safe. I however didn’t sleep, my wolf self didn’t feel sleepy in the slightest and instead enjoyed the warmth of the fire and seeing the flickering flames.
Time passed by and the sun rose up. We had to wait until curfew would end before we could go back into the castle. Thankfully, there is a secret entrance to the common rooms that only professors have access to. So to prevent suspicion, we were told to find flitwick after full moon nights so he would let us in. This time we didn’t need to see as he had stayed the night as well.
“Last night was really fun.” Sophia commented as we walked back to the secret entrance.
“Especially seeing you trying to tear your clothes off.” Yeah that happened, Wolf me didn’t like the clothes cause they made her fur itch. Something to fix before the next full moon.
“Har har, very funny. It's not my fault fur becomes itchy when pressed like that for too long.” I commented while absentmindedly scratching near my collar bone where the itch had become really bad.
“I can’t wait for next month! Sleeping against your fur is so comfy!” At that I just smiled. Should I feel jealous that Sophia seems to like me better as a wolf? Well, both are me so no need to overthink it. That being said, I need to step up my hunting game. Stupid wolf transformation being so stupidly expensive in terms of vitality. Oh well, nothing I can do about it… yet.

Hi hi, I am thinking of making a monthly poll for an extra chapter for the stories. What do you all think? How it would work is that members of the tier: all of em! would get to vote on one of the active stories to get an extra chapter out off. So right now there would be three options and the winner would get two chapters for that month or the next one.
