Monster Hunter Wilds | Update 8

Written/Voiced: ~36:30
Visually Edited: ~18:00
Estimated Length: ~38:30

Hello again,
I was correct in my estimate for how much clip-type footage could be done in a day or two, that being about 5 minutes in total, jumping our visually complete time to 18 minutes. This video is heading along quite well.

However, I am doubtful of its reception. I've made many a long video that I was extremely proud of, and each time they have not been viewed by that many people.

I will try in the future to work on shorter ones, but for this title specifically, I guess there was just a lot to cover. Lesson learned for now.

I am beginning to get a little burned out on the project, but it needs to get done, and I can probably finish this project in like 20-25 business days if I just bust my ass really hard (I need to have break days obviously, so longer than that). But, overall, we're getting 60 seconds done visually each day of work now, and that's gonna translate into results because of all the painstaking setup that came before.

We will see if I need to address my burnout soon. Last time, I said that I might take a day to rest. I actually lied, and did not take any rest days at all lol. We will see. But, of course, my fear that longer videos just won't do well is going to be affecting me for the rest of the project, and that takes its own toll. For now, I have Patreon, I have people who like my work and will especially like this longer video, as do I, but in truth I'm skeptical for how YouTube will receive it.

I feel ya, it seems like the Youtube algo seems to like vids under 20 minutes or over 2 hours, it's an odd rubber banding. I wish I or someone out there had a good answer to the problem. But I do hope you are enjoying and take care of yourself, I realize that the 'job' aspect of being a youtuber can add stress and problems that weren't there when you were building yourself up or just doin it for fun, but I can at least say that those who watch your vids (Whether many or fewer) always enjoy it, you do good work good sir. Do take some time for yourself, it seems like a tragic thing for something you enjoy to become a burden because of overwork. Have a good one Max0r.

I could be wrong, but I think your longer videos are well received if there is a lot of otherwise inaccessible lore for folks to enjoy your incorrect summaries of (such as Doom and Elden Ring). It also obviously helps if there is an active, very online playerbase for whatever game you are talking about. EDIT (since I accidentally typed "Enter" instead of "Shift+Enter"): Either way, I can assure you that I like your longer videos regardless of subject. I just tend to watch a bunch of them at once every now and again. Looking forward to this entry too! I will probably never play Monster Hunter so this is a good way to see what all the hype is about for me.

Thanks for the update Max0r and hope you look after yourself! One thing I thought of is to split the video in to smaller pieces and release them over a longer period id time? Then maybe keep the single video edit for patreons? I would suggest not doing any updates or changes to the video (inception horn "end of part 1, part 2 coming soon etc.") it might not be what you wanted the video to be in the end but it might play better with the algorithm. Regardless I'm looking forward to the result!
