I know I am late to the party with this comment, but after reading skill eater, I can't help but find nicks current attitude a bit lacking. Whilst caution I understandable, reading someone talk about avoiding danger constantly is far less interesting than seeing a MC face challenges head on with resolve. I have 3 and a half worth of books to still go, I'm hoping that it won't be long before Nick starts to challenge himself more. Since this book seems to have been written before skill eater, it's nice to see that Magnus skills have grown and his skill in writing an MC improved.
