Announcement: Daily word minimum increase and chapter formatting change.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to pop in and let you know about a change that will go live one week from today. I'm taking the next step as an author on Royal Road by trying to climb to the top 10 of the popular this week list.

The way that the list works, more chapters per week will make any give story more competitive. A lot of the top authors are already going with a 7-15+ chapter per week model, so I'm going to follow in their example.

On RR, I'll be posting 2 shorter chapters every M-F, instead of one longer one. The chapter pairs in book two are all designed to be read together, so I'll still be putting them into a single post here every day, just like before.

It means that nothing at all is going to change here in the short term, except you will see the chapter numbers change to the new RR values to keep new people from being confused when they get here. (I'll remind you again before I do it).

On top of that, I will be increasing the minimum words per day from 1400 to 1600, starting a few days ago, so we'll be reaching the end of each arc and book a little faster than before.

When we get to the end of my backlog (around the start of chapter 3) I will start writing some short chapters every now and again that are meant to be read by themselves. On those days, I'll be posting 2 shorter chapters on the same day (or even two longer ones), although most days will still be the exact same way they are now.

This change will let me write shorter complete scenes some of the time, instead of having to pad each of them out 1500 words (there will still be longer scenes too). I will have more flexibility with the pacing and variety in the kind scenes can I write going forward, which should help make the story better over time.

Again, I'll give you another notice before the change goes live, and all that it means right now is that you'll be getting more words per day and the chapter numbers will change, so nothing should feel any different.
