The Tragedy of Halo 3: ODST | Game Maker's Toolkit

After making that bumper balancing video, I wanted to make something a little smaller, a bit different, and a lot easier. So here's a video on a weirdo Halo spin-off!

Halo 3: ODST was a bold move for Bungie. A non-linear and open world Halo game, with a melancholic vibe and without Master Chief. In some ways it was wonderfully clever, in other ways it fell on its face. Let’s explore the highs and lows of this forgotten game.

Cheers, and enjoy!

There is this thing with your videos, I start peeking one about a topic I couldn't care less about - namely, the Halo franchise - and suddenly I enjoy the video fully to the very end. Keep up the good work :)

Nice surprise. I really like these 'random' topics. I know I started playing ODST a few years ago, but never finished it. But I have to admit, never finished any Halo game after the first one. Enjoyed your analytic view of the game, comparing it with other great games. Thanks

Serious, serious love for you right now man. Excellent video, amazing topic. I knew it was a good call to become a Patron

Nathan Fillion is in it as well as a couple other Firefly actors. It's a really fantastic game. I don't care for Halo games but I really can't recommend this one enough.

Are we the same person? I feel like your comment here speaks to me on a spiritual level. I listen to the OST regularly (in fact I'm going to put it on right now) and it's the only Halo game that really _sticks_ with me years later. It's the only one I reminisce on. I bought an Xbox 360 just for this game back in the day (of course I bought more games after that).

Oh man, I love ODST! I was so happy when it was added to the Master Chief Collection. That and Halo Reach, which is coming to MCC soon, are the odd Halo games out and they're both awesome for it.

I've never been into Halo much, but ODST sounds like it could be more up my alley. Plus, as I recall, Nathan Fillion performed the voice for one of the characters (the main one?), and he's always a treat. Thanks for the breakdown, Mark!

I hear they are obsessively engineered, whatever that means.

please tell me more about these butt-shaped matresses

Wasn't expecting this video but it's a pleasant surprise. When thinking about my favorite games I never think about ODST and I don't know why because the atmosphere of the game alone makes it such a memorable game. The game's OST is also one of my go to game ost when I need to focus at work :)
