He was not one dimensional in the first movie. He was many thing: the fearsome legend who put Vegeta in pure terror because he was basically a god for him.

2025-06-25 14:55:48 +0000 UTCWhen you are a kid and you see Broly for the first time, it's hard not to admire how tough and "badass" he was, and the fact that he was a Saiyan with his own unique transformations made him even cooler. As an adult, he does come off as a blank, one-dimensional character with no depth. I think it simply comes down to age. I loved Power Rangers as a kid, but if I saw it for the first time as an adult, I probably wouldn't be able to make it thru 1 episode.
