In episode 37, we see Kimblee talking to Winry about her parents' death. Among a lot of manipulative bullshit he spits, he says he respected them. It's easy to believe he's lying about it, but after episode 61, when his character's arc is concluded, we can see that, at least on that part, he did mean it. He respected people who sticked to their principles, be it the Elric brothers (about not killing anyone), or Winry's parents (for trying to save everyone, Ishvalans included, akcnowledging the risks). I've seen some people tell reactors that Kimblee was sincere after episode 37, which I think kinda spoils his character. Him being ordered to go there to rescue them (according to some translations) is obviously a blatant lie, though. If he was indeed ordered to go there (which I'm not sure it's confirmed or not), it'd have been most likely to dispose of them instead. Which puts Scar's actions under a new light: even if he didn't kill Winry's parents, they were already dead, as Kimblee would've killed them shortly after that. Because, even he respected them, at the end of the day he's still a psychopath, and he wouldn't have hesitated to murder them, most likely enjoying it as well.

2022-03-13 18:17:16 +0000 UTCI love the symbolism of how bradley, who denies god and religion, got defeated because the eclipse (which is a sign of god) blinded him at the last second allowing scar to deal the deadly blow. And about kimblee there's a great video about his character on yt called "solf j kimblee - the psycopathic realist"
