I wanted JOURNAL to be my first proper foray into romance – meaning that the feeding and gaining fun would go hand-in-hand with some legitimate character development and actual, human complications and emotions. But the circumstances around it were hard – I'd just moved countries and was adjusting in every single way, all while having to both work and study full-time – and so my mental bandwidth was far too limited for what I wanted to do, and I gave it up. It did work as an opportunity for me to try black-and-white comics with manga-style shading and patterns, which was fun to do, even if the results are only so-and-so. Unlike BIG BRO, this is a story idea that I'm still very fond of, so there's a small chance I may return to it in the future.
BONUS: The two pages of CHRIS, another comic idea that I briefly worked on before shifting over to JOURNAL. That one really was ridiculously ambitious and doomed from the start.
