Experiment 76 Part 2 (Scenes 32-40)

Scene 32:

Ivana was flustered and out of her element. Although she had a habit of making cutting remarks, she rarely used profanity. But now, without her usual physical presence to back up her words, Ivana felt the need to take drastic measures to defend herself. "Screw you, you bitch!" she yelled at the McKenzie's retreating figure, but either she didn't hear or chose to ignore her. It felt strange and out of character for Ivana to use such harsh language. A few nearby students looked in her direction, but quickly resumed their activities. Meanwhile, Ivana was oblivious to the sound of approaching footsteps behind her.

Scene 33:

The woman approached Ivana from behind, and as she continued talking on her phone, she interrupted herself with a brief "Hold on..." Ivana immediately sensed the girl's presence, though she wasn't nearly as tall as McKenzie, she still towered over Ivana. The woman appeared to be a freshman, maybe around 19 years old. As she slowed her pace, she turned her head away from the phone and towards Ivana, who looked up at her. "You shouldn't be using those words at such a young age..." the woman said before resuming her walk. Ivana was taken aback. Did this woman, who was barely an adult herself, mistake Ivana for a child?

Scene 34:

Ivana couldn't believe what had just happened. As the woman continued to walk and talk on her phone, Ivana exclaimed, "Are you kidding me???" The woman didn't seem to notice and said, "Kids these days are growing up so fast. You won't believe what I just heard..." Ivana, feeling offended, retorted, "Kid??? Who's the kid? It's not me, sweetie!" She spoke in a high-pitched voice, but the woman didn't acknowledge her.

Scene 35:

Ivana was feeling increasingly frustrated and unheard. She was used to making her point and having people listen to her, but now she didn't have her usual physical presence to back her up. In the absence of that, she began to preach. "You're the kid here, not me. I'm probably 15 years older than you! I could almost be your mother, you... you... brat!" But the woman continued to walk away, chatting on her phone, and the distance between them grew, making it impossible for Ivana to hear what they were talking about. At this point, the other students around them had stopped paying attention to Ivana's outbursts.

Scene 36:

As Ivana sensed a presence behind her, she spun around to face a young woman who was watching her, leaning against the wall. Their eyes met, and Ivana demanded, "What are you looking at???" The other woman appeared surprised and quickly averted her gaze. Ivana felt a sense of power from the woman's reaction, even though she didn't know if the woman thought she was an adult or not. But it wasn't enough for Ivana. Instead, this encounter fueled her desire to regain her physical size, and she felt that she had a solid solution in mind from the night before. She no longer wanted to wait for Aurora to finish her classes; she wanted to be restored now.

Scene 37:

Ivana stormed out of the dorms in a fit of anger, climbed into her truck, and drove home to change into her formal wear. Although her heels no longer fit, she decided to keep the children's shoes she had on and headed to the lab. Even though she knew no one else would be there, Ivana felt more empowered when dressed formally while performing her experiments. "How dare those young women speak to me like that, especially Aurora's roommate! When I'm back to my usual self, I'll put them in their place," she seethed to herself once she arrived at the lab.

Scene 38:

Ivana whirled around to face the control panel, struggling to adjust to her new, 52-inch stature and the different perspective it afforded her. With no Aurora to assist her, Ivana took on the task alone, determined to succeed. "I'll have this done in no time," she muttered, her fingers typing rapidly as she peered up at the screen. Satisfied with her work, Ivana exclaimed, "This looks great!" Her excitement mounting, she felt confident that the plan would work and that she would soon return to her former size.

Scene 39:

With a few more keystrokes on the control panel, the portals sprang to life. Ivana made small adjustments to the exit portal, ensuring that it was level and situated close to the entry portal. Since Aurora was absent, she monitored the data carefully, focusing on setting a trigger that would automatically close the portals once she entered and exited. "I just need to wait until these numbers align," Ivana muttered, her attention fixated on the B and C buffers, as well as the X offset, as she attempted to perfect the timing. "Ah, I see that they are steadily increasing. I need to set a trigger with an alert sound once these numbers reach the correct values," she said, still working feverishly on the panel. "Perfect! It should be ready in ten seconds!" Ivana exclaimed, quickly making her way to the portal's entrance.

Scene 40:

Approaching the portal, Ivana's apprehension grew as memories of her previous experience flooded her mind. She paused, hesitant, before taking a deep breath to calm her nerves. With her data reconfigured, she felt more confident about restoring her original height. As the reassuring beep sounded, she took two determined steps forward and entered the portal, hopeful that it would return her to her former stature.
