Starship Destiny, A Distant Galaxy, 2009

Harry stepped out of the stargate to chaos as people milled about the gate room.  He had used his abilities to throw extra crates of supplies through the wormhole before coming through.  He’d had to confound many of the muggles around him to accomplish this.  But it had been worth it.  He was disoriented by the extremely lengthy wormhole transit.  So, he was a little disoriented as a beam of light lit him up.  Suddenly Harry felt himself being pulled into the air.  All those in the gate room stopped to look at him in shock as a force-field enveloped him.  He was oblivious to the conversations going on around him as knowledge flooded his brain and he felt his body being changed.

Flashback

When Harry had woken up inside the body of a character from a TV show named Eli Wallace he had been confused.  The last thing he had remembered was going to sleep as an old man next to his wife Hermione.  He and Hermione had watched many TV shows and movies over their long lives.  Stargate Universe was a show they had watched when they were much younger.  He recognized the universe he was born into as being similar to the one he had watched in his youth.  The major difference seemed to be that Eli Wallace was named Harry Wallace.  Harry was gratified to realize the wandless magic he had mastered over his long life still worked.

When General Jack O’Neill and Dr. Rush showed up at his door, Harry immediately changed the plot a little bit.  He had invited them in and asked for a few minutes to pack.  In those few minutes he managed to pack a lot.  This Harry Wallace was apparently a prepper.  He had a go bag with survival supplies and another suitcase of tools.  Harry expanded a suitcase and threw the entire contents of his bedroom and then some.

His ride on the O’Neill to the planet where Icarus Base was located was very intriguing.  This was not Harry’s first ride on a starship.  But the O’Neill was certainly more advanced than any ship Harry had ridden on.  Earth had come far in Harry’s home universe.  But they didn’t have the benefit of being given tech by an advanced alien race like the Asgard or Alteran designs to reverse engineer.  Harry was more than passingly familiar with how to use computer systems to a very skilled degree.  Beyond that he cheated a bit.  He took knowledge directly from the minds of those operating the ship using legilimency.  Legilimency and occlumency had progressed to such a degree by the time Harry was an old man that they were indistinguishable from telepathy.

During the flight he managed to fabricate himself an upgraded laptop fitted with the most advanced Asgard tech and storage.  He also made a duplicate of the laptop, several holo emitters, a general-purpose handheld scanner, a few Asgard portable power sources, several plasma repeater weapons (pistols), and a small swarm of tritium-neutronium-naquadah nanites.  He also took a copy of the most relevant parts of the Asgard core with him.  It was a very productive trip.

Back Onboard Destiny

“Does anybody have idea what that thing is?” Lt. Matthew Scott called as he pointed up at the glowing tube of energy encapsulating Harry Wallace.

“It looks like a cross between an Ancient control chair interface and a DNA manipulator,” Dr. Adam Brody called.  “I’ve seen the separate pieces of technology on Atlantis.”

“He’s losing weight,” Dr. Lisa Park observed.  “And his features are changing.”

The ship made a strange sound and reality shifted for everyone onboard.

“What in the hell was that?” MSgt. Ronald Greer asked.

“I don’t know.  Seargent, I need you to get these people settled.  Find out who and what we’ve got.  Nobody leaves this room,” Scott ordered.

“Yes Sir,” Greer replied.

Just then Harry was released from the beam of light as he was slowly lowered to the deck.  His body was steaming.

“Harry?” Scott asked the changed man whose eyes were closed.

Harry’s eyes snapped open and the others took a step back.  If asked, they would have said later that his eyes were glowing.

“Yes,” Harry said.

“What happened to you?” Scott asked.

“I was changed.  Destiny showed me how to operate some of its systems.  I don’t know everything.  There was a lot of information.  But I know enough,” Harry said.

“What is Destiny?” Dr. Park asked.

“The starship we’re on.  It’s an exploration vessel launched hundreds of thousands of years ago from Pegasus.  It was built by Atlantis,” Harry said.  “Please refrain from touching anything.”  He looked to Scott and said, “We should go retrieve Rush.”

Scott nodded and followed Harry.  They found Rush on the forward observation deck.

“Faster than light yet not through hyperspace,” Rush noted.

“Hyperspace would be far too power intensive.  It had to travel at a slower pace.  But they had the time to spare.  They weren’t in a rush at the time they launched the mission,” Harry said.

Rush turned and looked at Harry.

“Did you learn that in whatever that cocoon of light was?” Rush asked.

“Yes.  And much more,” Harry said.

“Dr. Rush, we’ve got a lot of wounded and we need to get home,” Scott said.

“Scott, you don’t understand.  Destiny never had enough power to dial Earth from here directly.  Right now the capacitor banks that power Destiny are only operating at 40% of their capacity.  They’ve been in use far longer than their design life,” Harry said.

“What are you saying?” Scott asked.

“He’s saying we are home for now.  What powers the ship?” Rush asked.

“There was a lot of knowledge shoved into my brain.  New facts are revealing themselves.  The state of the power systems was a critical need to know item.  How they are powered hasn’t been shown to me yet.  Give me time,” Harry said.

Harry clutched his head in pain for a moment.

“Are you alright?” Scott asked.

“It was a lot of information.  I think I need to sleep.  But we don’t have time for that,” Harry said.

“Are you in danger of losing yourself to the knowledge or dying from it?” Rush asked.  “All those who have stuck their heads in an ancient knowledge repository before you have had that happen without assistance from the Asgard.”

“This was an upgraded model,” Harry said.  “And I don’t know that I have all the knowledge.  Just select parts of the knowledge.”

“Lt. Scott,” Tamara Johanson, TJ, radioed in.  “One of the air vents in here just shut down.”

“The air scrubber compound has degraded beyond usability.  It is way past its service life.  We’ll need to go to a planet to get a replacement,” Harry said.

The three men returned to the gate room.

“Listen up,” Scott shouted.

“What is going on?” Senator Alan Armstrong asked.

“Destiny is in another galactic cluster hundreds of millions of light-years from the Milky Way.  We do not have the power to dial Earth.  If the Alterans ever intended to dial back to the Milky Way from here they would have brought additional power,” Harry explained.  “More than likely they would have just sent a much faster ship to get between Destiny and Earth.  But the truth is this ship while it had life support capabilities was mostly meant to be automated.  It sends its data back to Atlantis at regular intervals.”

“How do you know all of this?” Chloe Armstrong asked.

“That device gave me the information,” Harry said as he pointed to the device mounted to the ceiling.

Just then Senator Armstrong clutched at his side in pain.

“Dad,” Chloe said in alarm.

“I need my pills,” Alan said.

The senator was helped to get his pills.

Chloe was sitting next to her father as Lt. Scott updated those in the gate room about what was going on with the oxygen scrubbers.  He was also asking those there to go about the ship in teams of three looking for oxygen leaks.  It was when he addressed Lt. Vanessa James that Chloe saw something that surprised her.  Her father had been trying to teach her to read body language.

“You’re uh…you’re uh James right?” Scott said to Vanessa.

She just looked at him while her body language screamed she couldn’t believe him.

“Yes Lieutenant,” Vanessa replied.

“You and Riley are with me,” Scott said.

It was in that moment that Chloe realized Scott and James had been intimate with one another.  Chloe knew from the fraternization rules of the military that such a relationship would be frowned upon if not downright banned.  She felt outraged on Vanessa’s behalf at how Scott had handled that interaction.  Greer even made a comment about how subtle Scott had been.  Greer was aware of the relationship.  Scott then came up and made a comment to her father about using his skills to keep everyone calm.

“Did you pick up on that little interaction? That boy is a player.  He has sleeping with her but he’s interested in you,” Alan told his daughter.

“I picked up on the fact they were sleeping together.  I didn’t pick up on his interest,” Chloe admitted.

“Oh trust me.  I did,” Alan said.  Chloe did trust her father.  “I don’t like him.  And that isn’t just because he showed interest in my daughter.  He doesn’t treat women right.  I’m sure he is a smooth talker.  But actions speak louder than words.”

“Are you alright?” Lisa asked as Harry clutched at his head.

“I need to rest.  Look, I’m going to pass out.  Destiny is heading to the nearest planet that has oxygen.  I’ve already programmed it to stop its mission indefinitely at that planet until I reactivate it.  If I’m not awake you’re going to need to retrieve a suitable replacement for the oxygen scrubber.  And please do not try to dial the gate to Earth. You’ll drain most of the power we have left in the attempt,” Harry told those in the room.

“We won’t try to dial,” Scott confirmed.

“I’ll help you get to someplace you can lie down,” Lisa said.

Lisa couldn’t help but take note of just how gorgeous the Ancient machine had made Harry.  She could tell the other women noticed it to.  It was like the machine had optimized Harry’s features to make him a physically optimal specimen of his gender.  Lisa felt herself growing aroused just glancing at him.  She kept a hand on him until she got him into a bed.

When Harry woke up, he felt much better.  The moment he went into the computer core room of the ship he sensed the drama going on.  Adam and Rush were manning the computer core.

“What’s going on?” Harry asked.

“There was a shuttle with a broken front window.  The door at the back of the shuttle could only be closed from the inside because it was broken.  Senator Armstrong is going to sacrifice himself to close the door from the inside so we don’t run out of air,” Adam summarized.

“Bring me a Kino to the shuttle in question,” Harry ordered Adam.

He had shown the others where the Kinos were at.  He’d chosen the same name Eli had used in the TV show.  Harry took off running.  A few minutes later he reached the shuttle. 

“Dad, no,” Chloe shouted as she ran at the closing door.

Harry moved and managed to get his fingers between the closing parts of the door before it could close.  He had moved faster than was humanly possible to those watching.  And then to their surprise he forced the door open.

“Open the door Senator before you break it further,” Harry ordered.

“Someone has to do it.  I want my daughter to live,” Alan said yet still opening the door.

“It doesn’t have to be you,” Chloe objected as she ran over and hugged her father while tears flowed freely.

“I’m dying Choe,” Alan said.  “I can feel it.”

“Come on,” Harry said as he and Chloe helped Alan out of the shuttle.  The others watched in stunned surprise as Harry taped a marker from Rush’s whiteboard back on Icarus Base to the bottom of the Kino.  He then piloted the kino until it was right over the button that needed to be pressed.  He guided it with his hand until the kino put enough pressure on the marker to pin it in place.  Then he walked out of the shuttle and piloted the kino straight down for a moment and then up.  The door closed.  “We’re going to pretend you were all too oxygen deprived to think of that or something else simpler,” Harry said.

“Thank you,” Chloe said with a hug and crying freely.

“He’s not out of the woods yet,” Harry said.  “Senator, if you’ve got a blood thinner need and internal bleeding you’re going to need to go into stasis.  You’ll either need to remain there until we find a way back to Earth or set up an operating theater here on Destiny and use the communication stones to summon an actual doctor.  I know quite a bit about healing now.  But I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it unless absolutely pressed.  Destiny’s stasis pods give us another option, a better option.”

“Let’s do it,” Alan agreed.

Harry helped Alan to the stasis pod chamber with Chloe’s help.  Harry stayed back at the control console as Chloe said her temporary goodbyes with her father.  Then Alan was in stasis.  Chloe was crying freely as she looked at her father.

“I know he isn’t dead.  But I feel like I’ve lost him all the same,” Chloe said.

“Understandable,” Harry said.

Chloe initiated another hug.

“Thank you so much.  You saved my father’s life,” Chloe said.  Chloe stepped back and then looked around.  She bit her lip.  “I want to say thank you properly.”

Chloe sank to her knees and started undoing his pants.

“Hold on,” Harry said as he grabbed her hands.  “Normally I would not be turning down someone as gorgeous as you.  But I don’t want you to feel obligated to me.  You don’t have to do this,” Harry said.

“Well, this heat is going to get old fast,” Harry said.

“Can you dial back to the ship?” Scott asked.

“I’ll do it,” Dr. Jeremy Franklin said as he took the remote.

Andrea Palmer explained the test they ran looking for calcium carbonate.  There was nothing useful in the immediate vicinity of the gate.

“What we if split into two teams,” Harry suggested.  “I can take a team that way and you could take a team that way,” He said while pointing in two different directions while looking to Scott.

“Sounds like a good idea.  Your team will be Palmer, Franklin, and Curtis,” Scott said.  “Greer and Rush, you’re with me.”

The group split up into two teams.

It didn’t take long for Jeremy Franklin and Andrea Palmer to start complaining.

“We should turn back and try some of the other planets in range,” Andrea suggested.

“Destiny would have locked them out for a reason.  The planets were scanned by the ship that put the stargate there,” Harry said.

“Do you know that for a fact or are you just guessing?” Franklin asked.

“The Ancients had the gates seeded on planets that were able to be terraformed but weren’t yet habitable or planets that were completely uninhabitable but were resource rich,” Harry explained.  “You could be walking through the gate to a planet with poisonous atmosphere or no atmosphere at all.  By all means, go try one of them,” He said as he held out the remote.  “I wouldn’t have to hear the bitching.”

“We’ll send the kino through first,” Franklin said as he took the remote.

“Go with them,” Harry said to the torn looking Curtis.  “I’ll be fine by myself.”

“You shouldn’t be out here alone,” Curtis said.  “There are two of them.”

“I can take care of myself,” Harry said while using a compulsion charm on Curtis.

Curtis nodded his agreement and followed the other two as they headed back for the gate.  Harry slipped the remote’s battery into his pocket.  He wasn’t about to let those two idiots to kill themselves so easily.  They’d get back to the gate and realize they couldn’t dial out.  They could sit there with their thumbs up their asses.  The moment they were out of sight Harry took to the air.  He had long ago mastered flight without a broom.  He wasn’t going to be going at racing broom speeds.  But he still flew at a very decent clip.  The point-me spell had him heading in the direction of the calcium carbonate in the biggest concentration nearby.  Within ten minutes he was touching down.

Harry raised his hands while focusing on the summoning charm and calcium carbonate.  A cloud of sand rose up from the surrounding surface and began pouring into the two empty packs he had been carrying.  Within moments the packs were full.  He picked them up by a strap each and then took to the air once more.  He picked up his radio.

“Scott, come in,” Harry said.

“Go ahead Harry,” Scott replied.

“I’ve got the calcium carbonate,” Harry announced.

“We’re turning around now,” Scott replied.

Harry took to the air.

Harry had let Scott’s team get back first before he came walking in carrying the two sand filled packs.  He’d actually set the packs down just out of view of the gate and then done a bit of exploring.  By coating himself in a shield and apparating into space in orbit of the planet he was able to get a better view of where they were at.  It turns out it wasn’t a desert planet.  They just happened to be in the middle of a desert.  Harry had taken the opportunity to put some resources in an expanded trunk.

“Very funny,” Andrea said when he returned.

“It’s funny you thought I was going to let you get killed so easily.  You would have been dead if you had gone through.  The kino can’t detect every danger,” Harry replied as he put the battery back in the remote.

The away team returned to Destiny.  Harry received a lot of appreciation for acquiring the calcium carbonate.

“How did it go visiting your mom?” Harry asked when Chloe came into his room.

“It was hard,” Chloe admitted.  Harry opened an arm and she came over to him.  He wrapped his arm around her.  She laid her head on his shoulder.  “It isn’t as hard as it would have been if dad had actually been dead.  But being in a different body was so strange.”

“I’ll bet,” Harry agreed.

“How can you smell so good after being in a desert?” Chloe asked.  “Everyone else smells pretty rank from that mission.”

“Well I may have located the Alteran version of a shower.  Or at least the version on limited water resources.  It puts this liquid mist out that beads on your skin.  It takes away the dirt, grime, and nastiness.  It gets you clean,” Harry explained.

“Show me,” Chloe demanded excitedly.  “I need to be clean so bad.”

Harry nodded and moved to get up.  As he did, he noticed out the window something odd.  Chloe took notice where he was looking.  As they watched a small spacecraft detached from Destiny’s hull and flew off.

“Well that can’t be good,” Harry said.  “That didn’t appear to be Alteran in origin.  It would appear other aliens have taken notice of destiny.”

“We can report it after my shower,” Chloe said.

Chloe followed Harry into a room with a bunch of shower stalls.  She immediately began to strip.  She didn’t ask him to look away but did have her back turned to him.  She looked over her shoulder and saw him checking out her naked ass.  She appreciated his gaze as she slipped into the stall.  She followed his instructions.

“How does it feel?” Harry asked.

“Different.  But I can feel myself getting clean,” Chloe answered.  “I just wish there was a way to clean our clothes too.”

“There is.  There’s a chamber over her you can stick your clothes in.  It passes an energy wave over the clothes and cleans them.  I’m doing that with your clothes right now,” Harry explained.

“Thank you so much,” Chloe said.  Harry took note of Chloe’s outline in the opaque stall door.  “I’m so glad you were given that knowledge about the ship.  It has come in very handy.  Though I’m sure the others would appreciate a ways of making food.  The rations just don’t quite cut it.”

“You aren’t hungry?” Harry asked.

“To be honest I haven’t felt hungry at all until the last hour, not since I gave you that BJ yesterday,” Chloe admitted.  “To be honest I’m wondering if it was something in your load.”

“That sounds like a badly written porn video plot,” Harry pointed out.

Since his change at the hands of the ship, Harry’s magic had felt far more powerful.  Ever since watching the Stargate TV show and learning of zero point energy or vacuum energy Harry had wondered if that was what the Alterans had been able to manipulate to show their powers.  He’d also wondered if this was the same energy wizards called magic.  The scanner he made with the Hammond confirmed he had vacuum energy.  The scanner also showed a massive increase in his vacuum energy since his transformation.  It could very well be that it was this vacuum energy that made his seed into what Chloe was describing.

“I don’t think this is something you should tell many people about,” Chloe said.

“I agree,” Harry replied.

“How many times do you think you can cum in one day and produce the same amount of semen?” Chloe asked.

“This is a very surreal conversation,” Harry mused.

“Well we’re in very unusual circumstances,” Chloe said.

“Oh, do tell,” Harry said.  Chloe did.  “Wow, I thought he was a player the moment I met him.”

“So how do you want to handle this with Vanessa and Park?” Chloe asked.

“I’m not sure,” Harry said.  “I mean it would sound pretty ridiculous if I told them this.”

“Yeah, they wouldn’t believe you,” Chloe confirmed.  “Let me think on it for a while.”
